Val’s Glow Party

Connection has been important to me in the journey. I treated my early appointments with my doctors as an interview and often ended those appointments with a declaration welcoming them to my team. I had fun with my chemo nurses and we laughed together. Radiation has not felt the same. I think it’s because most of the time I am with the techs for such a short period of time. After 380 minutes together over 19 treatments, I feel like with 11 treatments lefts we are starting to hit our stride (finally)

The one way I have felt connection with them has been through the music. They use Spotify and always tell me that I can listen to whatever I want. It hit me last night that the gift I want to give them is a playlist. I’ve turned to my Facebook Squad and asked for help. They did such a great job suggesting songs for the final playlist that I realized I needed their help with an everyday playlist. For these last 11 treatments I will ask the techs to use this playlist and then each day I will be surrounded by songs my friends dedicated to me to get me through. Maybe this will make radiation less draining. The tech’s will push play and it will be surprise to all of us what we get! I’m actually looking forward to radiation now.
